Overview
Miki Goodwin is the inaugural associate dean of clinical practice, overseeing student clinical placements, facilitating faculty practice development, and underscoring the school’s dedication to health care leadership and collaboration with the Johns Hopkins Health System and nationwide partner hospitals and community centers. Dr. Goodwin has experience in establishing and matching clinical placement opportunities that bolster and reinforce the concepts, theory, and research culture learned in academia. She is involved in transition programs for new nurses and established a Transitions to Practice Fellowship for new Nurse Practitioners. She has served as both a chief nursing officer and a university dean overseeing nursing and allied health sciences programs. As well as being a Fellow in the American Academy of Nursing and a Wharton Executive Leadership Fellow, Dr. Goodwin’s career highlights include establishing two Centers for Nursing Excellence at large regional health care systems, serving as an evaluator for the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, and maintaining active memberships in professional nursing organizations including the Royal College of Nursing in the UK, and holds a VP position in Nu Beta Chapter at Large of Sigma.
