DNP, MSN, BSN, BS, RN, FNP-BC, CNE

Dr. Moore is an Associate Professor Awaiting Rank at the Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing. She earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Case Western Reserve University and her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from the University of Pennsylvania. Additionally, she earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Computer Science with a minor in Electrical Engineering from the University of Virginia.

Before joining Johns Hopkins, she served as Clinical Associate Professor at The Catholic University of America, where she also held leadership roles including Associate Dean for Innovation and Online Learning, Co-Associate Dean for Masters Programs, and Director of the Family Nurse Practitioner Program. She was instrumental in translating clinical courses to online formats and enhancing competency-based education.

Dr. Moore has extensive clinical experience as a family nurse practitioner in primary care settings, and more recently in palliative and hospice care. Before transitioning to nursing, she worked for 8 years as a computer scientist/programmer analyst.

Her scholarship focuses on competency-based education, entrustable professional activities (EPAs), artificial intelligence in education, simulation and extended reality, telehealth, technology-enhanced learning, and distance education. She has authored digital works and peer-reviewed articles that have appeared in journals such as Nurse Educator, Journal of Nursing Education, and Clinical Simulation in Nursing. She has presented at national conferences, including the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN), the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), and the National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties (NONPF).

Dr. Moore has secured and contributed to substantial externally funded initiatives, including a Department of Veterans Affairs Nursing Academic Partnership; a SAMHSA‑funded Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) education project; and multiple telehealth, simulation, and technology‑enhanced training grants. As an educator and leader, she has led large‑scale curricular transitions, championed simulation center development, and mentored hundreds of nurse practitioner students.

With a background in computer science and clinical practice, Dr. Moore combines technical fluency and clinical insight to advance innovative, evidence‑based approaches in health professions education and to prepare the next generation of nurse practitioners for contemporary models of care.
