We continue to work to create an environment in which all members of the JHSON community feel welcomed and supported and that those with differing perspectives and contributions are not only sought out but know that they are equally valued.
DEIB doesn’t exist in a vacuum. Through the efforts of Student Affairs, JHSON supports a number of student organizations where students can get involved, share diverse views, and work together to solve today’s culture and health care challenges.
Asian Pacific American Nursing Students Association
Black Student Nurses Association
Fellowship of Christian Nurses
Jewish Nursing Student Association
Men in Nursing
Students can also get involved in health care efforts within the Baltimore community while earning service-learning credit and connecting with fellow students from the Schools of Medicine and Public Health through SOURCE (Student Outreach Resource Center). SOURCE works with a network of over 100 community-based organizations that provide opportunities for collaboration with people who are ethnically, racially, socioeconomically, etc. different from them.
Faculty, staff, and students may also bring their diverse perspectives to healthcare interest groups including:
Community Health Interest Group
Critical Care Interest Group
Disaster Nursing Interest Group
Geriatric Interest Group
Global Health Interest Group
Integrative Health Interest Group
Palliative Care Interest Group
Pediatric Health Interest Group
Psychiatric Mental Health Interest Group
