IPS ED Appointed to the National Advisory Council on Nurse Education and Practice

Professor Vincent Guilamo-Ramos has been appointed to the National Advisory Council on Nurse Education and Practice (NACNEP) by U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services Xavier Becerra. Guilamo-Ramos is executive director of the Institute for Policy Solutions, Leona B Carpenter Chair in Health Equity and Social Determinants of Health, and director of the Center for Latino Adolescent and Family Health at John’s Hopkins School of Nursing.

NACNEP provides advice and recommendations on policy, program, and general regulation development to the Secretary and Congress with respect to the administration of Title VIII of the Public Health Service Act. This includes a range of issues relating to the nursing workforce, nurse supply, education, and practice improvement.

“I’m honored to serve on the National Advisory Council on Nurse Education and Practice. As our nation seeks urgent solutions for our broken health system, I look forward to being a consistent voice for the most promising and sustainable solution — a nurse-driven model of care that eliminates health and health care inequities,” Guilamo-Ramos said.
