Some group leaders want the option to individualize CPP to better meet the needs of a particular family. The Chicago Parent Program Individualized for Families (CPPi) retains the core features of the original group-based program and provides guidance on how to flex the program to address a family’s individual needs. CPPi is designed for health care professionals working individually with families of young children 2-8 years old in a range of care settings. CPPi differs from the group-based program in the following ways:
- Offered individually to families
- Implemented by health care professionals (e.g., mental health providers, primary care providers, nurses)
- Allows flexibility in the number, frequency, and length of CPPi sessions based on family’s needs
- Uses a goal-setting exercise to identify parents’ goals and monitor progress

- If I’ve been trained in the CPP group-based format, do I still need to complete the full CPPi training?
Yes, we would still like you to attend the full training. While the discussion of the CPP strategies will be a review, the remainder of the training content is all focused on the implementation of the CPPi model. - Who is typically trained in CPPi?
CPPi is designed for clinicians working individually with families of young children 2-8 years old in a range of care settings. - Would participating in the CPPi training also prepare me to implement CPP groups?
No, there is a separate training for implementing the group-based version of CPP. There are also separate training materials (e.g., a group leader manual, different format for CPP videos)
