The School of Nursing (SON) is a global leader in nursing and continues to redefine nursing education through a unique combination of academic rigor, extraordinary nursing scholarship, research, and unparalleled opportunities for nursing graduates. The SON’s national and international reputation for excellence and developing the nursing leaders of the future is based on its success in:
Educating nurses in all aspects of advanced nursing practice;
Developing competent and experienced nurses in their chosen area of sub-specialization with academic and clinical team mentoring to further multidisciplinary initiatives;
Shaping graduates who go on to work in numerous health care systems all over the globe leading organizations, researching innovations in nursing, and providing care;
Preparing Advanced Practice Nurses and Clinical Nurse Specialists;
Planning and conducting conferences, symposia, workshops and other similar educational or academic experiences; and
Delivering simulation learning and Inter-professional education
The School currently has 36 active international collaborations in 26 countries, most of which are with foreign universities. Consultation is provided to other schools of nursing to assist with the establishment of graduate programs, improve overall instructional programs and establish and/or enhance research infrastructure and capacity. Faculty also participate in research initiatives and produce scholarly work in partnership with our foreign colleagues.
