Johns Hopkins Nursing Shining Star Award

The Elsie Peyton Jarvis Star Nurse Award was established in 2017 to recognize all Hopkins nurses who demonstrate clinical excellence in their area of nursing to improve the quality of patient care and has made a significant difference to the nursing profession. Hospital nurse nominees must have at least one year experience at a Johns Hopkins-affiliated hospital. This distinctive honor will reward six outstanding individuals a $1,000 personal grant. One award to each affiliated hospital. Nominations were accepted by peers, physicians, students and staff.

Elsie Peyton Jarvis Star Nurse Award Nomination Form

The Eunice Searles King Student Nurse Award was established in 2018 to recognize a current JHSON student who exemplifies leadership within the classroom or in student organizations, participates in community outreach efforts through healthcare initiatives and exhibits outstanding patient care in their clinical rotations. Students must also demonstrate excellence in scholarship and perform significant, meritorious, compassionate service to Hopkins patients, patient families, or the Hopkins community. Each year, this distinctive honor will reward an exceptional student nurse with a $2,500 personal grant.

EUNICE King Student Nurse Award Nomination Form

The Linda Davies Versic Faculty Award is given to a current faculty member who demonstrates excellence in patient care, looks for innovative ways to engage students and peers in local and global community healthcare programs, and connects with students through nursing organizations and activities are eligible for nomination. Nominees must also demonstrate excellence in teaching and use creative approaches to advance nursing research, practice, and education. Faculty nominees must have served at least one year as Johns Hopkins School of Nursing faculty. Each year, this distinctive honor will reward a Johns Hopkins Nurse with a personal grant of $2,500.  Nominations accepted by students, faculty and staff will be reviewed by an appointed selection committee.

Linda Davies Versic Faculty Award Nomination Form

The Rosenwald Star Nurse of the Year Award was established by Cynthia and Peter Rosenwald to recognize nurses working in the Intensive Care Units of all Johns Hopkins Hospitals who go above and beyond the call of duty in providing caring, compassionate, and competent nursing to their patients. Each year, this distinctive honor rewards an exceptional, critical care nurse with a personal grant of $5,000.  Nominations will be accepted by peer nurses and nurse managers from each Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Rosenwald ICU Nurse of the Year Nomination Form

The Rosenwald Nursing Innovator of the Year Award was established by Cynthia and Peter Rosenwald in 2016 to recognize nurses for developing implementable and innovative initiatives that improve the quality of patient care and benefits the hospitals across the Johns Hopkins Healthcare Systems, and is ultimately adopted by the hospitals.  Each year, this distinctive honor will reward a Johns Hopkins Nurse with a personal grant of $5,000.  Nominations accepted by peer nurses and nurse managers from all six patient care locations and will be reviewed by an appointed selection committee.

Rosenwald Nurse Innovator Award Nomination Form

The School of Nursing Diversity Award recognizes JHSON staff, faculty and students for their contributions related to diversity. Nominees must demonstrate advocacy for the development and celebration of diversity and inclusion through the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing locally and/or globally. Nominations will be accepted from JHSON staff, faculty and students.

School of Nursing Diversity Award Nomination Form

The Suzanne Concato Nurse Preceptor Award recognizes current preceptors who are committed to mentoring students on 1:1 basis, and providing nursing students the opportunity to assess patients, and promote critical thinking and clinical decision making. Nominees must demonstrate leadership to advance the regulation or practice of nursing and must have a consistent record of precepting Johns Hopkins School of Nursing students and be must employed at a Johns Hopkins-affiliated entity. Each year, this distinctive honor will reward an exceptional student nurse with a $2,500 personal grant. Nominations accepted from peers, faculty, physicians, students, and staff.
