For several years, the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing has sponsored the Johns Hopkins University MedHacks. MedHacks is a student-run hackathon held in partnership with many divisions within Johns Hopkins University and Johns Hopkins Hospital. They are one of the largest healthcare-focused hackathons in the United States, with 1000+ clinicians, engineers, scientists, and innovators participating each year.
There are typically 3 tracks led by lead sponsors. This year, the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing will be one of the lead sponsors and will be overseeing one of the 3 tracks. We will focus on patient safety and ways to improve nursing efficiency to decrease adverse events such as medication errors.

Chat Session for MSN Entry into Nursing questions Time: 3:00pm - 4:00pm Locations: Online Details: The online chat is a great way to ask any questions you may have, or see other questions being asked that you may not have thought to ask yourself. An abundance of information is discussed and we hope you will join us. Be sure your computer has Java properly installed and enabled, and your pop up blocker is turned off in order to successfully log into the chat. Chat sessions will become active 15 minutes before the start time to allow students to join. Registration required.

After checking in, you will proceed left of the front desk. You will walk past the Gift Shop, double elevators and turn left by the pavilion desk. Go through double wood doors and on the left side is the conference room, across from the Cardiac Gym.

The COMPASS journal club is an opportunity for SON students to critically evaluate recent articles from academic literature on subjects related to our mission and vision. The journal club aims to create awareness about current issues, research, opportunities, and initiatives.
Through journal club, we hope to foster opportunities for JHU students and faculty to dialogue about current issues in the field. We encourage participants to share their view regarding the appropriateness of the research design, statistical methods employed, and conclusions drawn from the findings.
