He is professor emeritus of biochemistry at Stanford, a former Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) Investigator, a member of the National Academy of Sciences and the Institute of Medicine, and recipient of the American Cancer Society Medal of Honor. In 2011, Dr. Brown founded Impossible Foods, a company now at the forefront of plant-based meat, fish and dairy products.

BUILT TO SCALE: SCALING UP EVIDENCE-BASED HEALTH INTERVENTIONS Time: 11:00am - 12:00pm Locations: Online Details:
Why do some great ideas fail to scale? A conversation with John List
Scaling up health interventions to large populations is not a straightforward undertaking. A good understanding of the scaling of innovation is required for societal outcomes. Join the JHSON RESILIENCE Center for a conversation with Dr. John A. List, the Kenneth C. Griffin Distinguished Service Professor in Economics at the University of Chicago and author of The Voltage Effect: How to Make Good Ideas Great and Great Ideas Scale. During the webinar, List will tackle one of scaling's trickiest questions: Why do some great ideas make it big while others fail to take off?
The "Built to Scale" virtual seminar series explores researchers’ challenges and successes in successfully scaling evidence-based health interventions.
