Overview

Janelle Akomah is a board-certified family nurse practitioner with over 12 years of nursing experience. She earned her BS in molecular biology, biochemistry, and bioinformatics with a minor in chemistry at Towson University. She then earned her MSN from University of Maryland Baltimore. After graduation, she became a nurse at Johns Hopkins Hospital. She later earned her FNP-DNP degree at Loyola University and practiced as a family nurse practitioner in the home health field, catering toward the geriatric and disabled population. In addition to her faculty commitment at the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing, she has an independent practice providing home health, primary care, and aesthetics. She is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society.
