Nancy Gentry Russell

FNP-BC, APRN

Nancy Gentry Russell has been an RN since 2009 and a family nurse practitioner (FNP) since 2013, providing comprehensive, primary health care for families across the lifespan in rural North Carolina and for college and university students in Washington, DC and Baltimore. She also served as director of outreach and engagement at the Georgetown University Student Health Center.

Dr. Russell is passionate about improving the health of individuals and populations in the primary care setting, and has particular interest in the care of and issues affecting adolescents and young adults. In addition to her faculty role at the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing, Dr. Russell practices as an FNP for Johns Hopkins University Student Health & Well-Being. She currently serves as the Region IV representative to the board of directors for the American College Health Association, and is a former District of Columbia State Liaison for the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.

A member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing , Dr. Russell earned her BSN and MSN degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her DNP degree from the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing.
