Owen Woodfield Smith is a Registered Nurse and PhD candidate at the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing, with an expected graduation in May 2026. His clinical and community health work has focused on mental health, HIV care, and Latino immigrant health in both the United States and Central America. His research examines interpersonal trauma, emotional support, and psychosocial wellbeing among Latino immigrant men living with HIV, with the goal of improving engagement in care and informing trauma-informed, relationship-based healthcare approaches.
