Assistant Professor Laura Lucas has been appointed to the role of MSN program director.
Dr. Lucas has been a full-time faculty member at the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing since 2013. Prior to that and while working at Johns Hopkins Hospital, she was a part-time faculty clinical instructor beginning in 1992. With many years of experience as a labor and delivery nurse, she has served the school as faculty in the Foundations lab setting, as clinical coordinator for the Childbearing course, and as theory coordinator for Health Assessment. As an advanced practice clinical nurse specialist, she continues to provide consultation and advocate for support for families during their pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum.

2 Grants for PhD Student Mickey Dhir
PhD student Mickey Dhir has received the Sigma/Association of Nurses in AIDS Care Grant research grant, established to encourage research career development of nurses through support of clinically oriented HIV/AIDS research and increase the number of HIV studies being done by nurses. This includes studies focused on HIV prevention, symptom management, promotion of self-care and adherence. He also received an Option B Scholarship to attend the 2023 United States Conference on HIV/AIDS (USCHA), September 6-9 in Washington, DC. Congratulations, Mickey!
