Dean’s Alumni Awards

Nominations are now open for the Dean’s Alumni Awards. The awards recognize alumni who have distinguished themselves in one of the categories listed below. Nominations for the 2025 School of Nursing Dean’s Alumni Awards must be received by February 14. A nominations committee comprised of alumni, faculty and administrators will make final award decisions. Awards will be presented at the Alumni Weekend Brunch on Saturday, April 5.

Outstanding Nurse Researcher

Honoring an alumna/us whose research, professional achievements and cumulative contributions have brought personal distinction, enhanced the profession, improved the welfare of the general public and brought honor and prestige to his or her field.

Outstanding Nurse Educator

Honoring an alumna/us who demonstrates excellence and innovation in the teaching of nursing.

Outstanding Policy Influencer

Honoring an alumna/us whose policy and advocacy accomplishments at the local, regional, national, or international level have made a significant impact in their field or whose policy and advocacy work has improved the health of individuals, communities or populations; demonstrates how nurse leaders are providing outstanding contributions to health policy issues.

Trauma Translated

PhD student and researcher Arum Lim, who worked as a cardiovascular surgery intensive care unit nurse in her native Seoul, left South Korea for the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing to research post-traumatic stress disorder and, more specifically, its impact on cardiovascular health risks. Career Fair Prep Drop-In Hours

Career Lab is hosting a career fair on Wednesday, February 5 from 11am-2pm. Fair registration is open now. Students participating in the fair are encouraged to update their resumes. To help you prepare your document, and/or have productive chats with employers, we are hosting Career Fair Prep Drop-in Hours! These are intended for quick consultations (less than 15 minutes) – you can still schedule 30-minute appointments leading up to the fair. No pre-registration needed. Just pick a time that works best for you! SON Career Fair

The Johns Hopkins SON Career Fair, 11 am-2 pm Wednesday, February 5, is for MSN Entry students graduating in May and August 2025. Check in outside of Carpenter Room A and get a map of the employer booths; map is attached to the left of this event page

• Wear scrubs or professional attire (think blazer and slacks)
• Bring your student ID and copies of your resume
• Utilize Handshake (Career Center tab > Resources), especially the sections on resumes, networking, and employer info (FAQs on how and when to apply)

There will be a virtual fair on April 2, 3:30-5:30pm ET, with different employers.
