Nurse Practitioner of the Year by The Daily Record

Assistant Professor & Nurse Practitioner Ashley Fenton has been recognized as Nurse Practitioner of the Year by the Daily Record as part of its 2025 Health Care Heroes awards.

This prestigious honor highlights health care providers outstanding dedication to patient care, clinical excellence, and leadership within the health care community.

BMA Get-Together

The JHU Office of the Provost Arts Initiative has invited all Johns Hopkins students, faculty, and staff to a Night at the Museum at the Baltimore Museum of Art, 5:30-8:30 pm on Wednesday, April 30. The event will include after-hours access to the galleries as well as refreshments, live music, and the chance to connect with colleagues from across JHU.

Please note that this is not a ticketed event. Non-Hopkins guests are welcome but must be accompanied by someone with a Hopkins ID, which will be checked upon arrival. 

International Scholarship

Join the Center for Global Initiatives from 1-2 pm on Wednesday, May 14 in JHSON N420 as its International Visiting PhD Students and Scholars present a bit about their backgrounds, research, and current work. CGI will also acknowledge the JHSON faculty and staff who have gone above and beyond to make this past year’s International Visitors program successful; we are immensely grateful for your contributions. Learn about available resources, partnership opportunities, and strategies to enhance the impact of your clinical research.

2025 Hopkins Medicine Distinguished Speaker Series

The 2025 Hopkins Medicine Distinguished Speaker Series presents A Conversation with Meena Seshamani, MD, PhD, 6-7 pm Tuesday, May 20, in Strauch Auditorium in the Armstrong Medical Education Building, 1600 McElderry Street. A pre-event dinner and reception will begin at 5:30 pm.

Dr. Seshamani, a Johns Hopkins-trained surgeon and Oxford-trained economist, most recently led the Medicare program at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. On Feb. 6, 2025, she was appointed Maryland Department of Health secretary by Gov. Wes Moore. She is an accomplished, strategic leader with a deep understanding of health care policy and operations, and a heartfelt commitment to outstanding patient care. The discussion will center on public health, funding, Medicare, the FDA and the role of government in health care.

The online chat is a great way to ask any questions you may have, or see other questions being asked that you may not have thought to ask yourself. An abundance of information is discussed and we hope you will join us. Be sure your computer has Java properly installed and enabled, and your pop up blocker is turned off in order to successfully log into the chat. Chat sessions will become active 15 minutes before the start time to allow students to join. Registration required.

 We invite you to join the Office of Admissions for our next Dimensions of Nursing Virtual Information Session on Tuesday, May 27, from 3 to 4 p.m. ET. This session topics is Speak Up: The Importance of Advocacy and Policy in Nursing. Each month, we shine a spotlight on unique and diverse populations within our community. For this discussion, Alexander Murphy, Assistant Director of Admissions and Recruitment, will facilitate a discussion among current students and faculty who are involved in advocacy and policy from a nursing perspective.

Admissions Workshop: Keys to Charm City – Let’s Talk Housing

Join us 3-4 pm Thursday, May 22 for an engaging workshop focused on housing opportunities in and around Baltimore. We’ll explore neighborhoods, transportation options, and tips for finding a place that fits your lifestyle and academic needs while living in Charm City. Gain valuable insights and resources to help you confidently navigate the local housing landscape. Robin Lin Lenzo, director of student services and housing, along with members of the Admissions team, will be part of the workshop to offer expert guidance and answer your questions.
