The Longest Table: Fostering Belonging at JHU

DNP Student Ready to Shine

Madeline Quinn, a student in the SON’s DNP Pediatric Clinical Nurse Specialist program, has been selected as a finalist in the all JHU doctoral student Empower Your Pitch (EYP) competition! This competition provides an opportunity to showcase exciting inquiry conducted by JHU doctoral students.

Madeline’s presentation is titled Through Their Eyes: A Day in the Life of an ICU Nurse – A Simulation for Nurses and Their Families. This innovative project features scenarios that pediatric ICU nurses at Children’s Nebraska in Omaha experience in providing care to critically ill children and their families. She will deliver her presentation at the EYP competition finals, 3-6 pm Tuesday April 8. Good luck, Madeline!

SOURCE Spring Tri-School Day of Service

Join dozens of other volunteers from the JHU health professional schools and serve our community at SOURCE partner community-based organizations. One morning of service can truly make a difference! Several projects are available to choose from and registrations are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Chat Session for MSN (Entry into Nursing)

This online chat (3-4 pm Thursday, April 10) is a great way to ask any questions you may have, or see other questions being asked that you may not have thought to ask yourself. An abundance of information is discussed and we hope you will join us. Be sure your computer has Java properly installed and enabled, and your pop-up blocker is turned off in order to successfully log into the chat. Chat sessions will become active 15 minutes before the start time to allow students to join.

Flight Nurse Panel: Presented by CCIG & AMT

Whether you are considering a career in aeromedical transport or simply curious about this vital part of healthcare, this event will provide invaluable perspectives and knowledge. ‘Feels Like Home’ Documentary Pre-screening

Join us 4-6:30 pm Thursday, April 10 at JHSON for a pre-screening and discussion of Feels Like Home, a film about life at home for families of children with medical complexities and disabilities. Feels Like Home is an original production by the Berman Institute iDeas Lab funded by a JHU Discovery Award. Followed by a fireside chat with the film team, an expert panel discussion about the value of home modifications for families of children with disabilities and the cost of not doing them, and a reception and gallery walk. (Tasty bites and drinks will be served.)

Dimensions of Nursing: Transitioning into Nursing as a Second Career

The Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing is committed to highlighting the experiences, research, and practice of various identities belonging to our nursing community. Tuesday, April 22 (3-4 pm), our Dimensions of Nursing virtual session will speak about First-Generation Student Success and Support at the School of Nursing. Each month will highlight diverse and unique populations within our community. Alexander Murphy, assistant director of Admissions for diversity initiatives and recruitment, will facilitate how first-generation students find success and support during their academic journey. Registration is required. Audience: Public, Students

On-Site Programs Open House

The Office of Admissions will host an in-person Open House for prospective students interested in onsite programs, including the MSN Entry into Nursing and the DNP Adult-Gerontological Acute Care Nurse Practitioner programs.

Each prospective student may bring one guest to the event. Attendees will have the opportunity to interact with program faculty and current students through individualized agendas, as well as learn more about the opportunities available throughout the program. Lunch will be provided during the event.
