Congratulations to PhD Candidate Marcus Henderson, MSN, RN, who has been inducted as a distinguished scholar and fellow of the National Academies of Practice (NAP)!

From the NAP press release: “Mr. Henderson is a dynamic psychiatric nurse and leader with interprofessional experience as a clinician and educator in community-based, acute psychiatric, and academic settings. His clinical and research interests are in adolescent mental health and suicide prevention, family science, the social determinants of mental health, and advancing DEI and anti-racism in healthcare. He has held interprofessional leadership roles, including National Chairman of HOSA-Future Health Professionals, member of the National Commission to Address Racism in Nursing, member of the National Academy of Medicine’s (NAM) Future of Nursing 2020-2030 Committee, and member of the NAM Committee on Exploring a Culture of Fairness, Respect, and Anti-Racism in Health Professions Education.”

The Longest Table (noon-2 pm Tuesday, April 8, Turner Concourse) is a free gathering of faculty, staff, and students about sharing a meal while building connections, sharing stories, and fostering a deeper sense of belonging within our JHU community. Through dialogue, we break down barriers, build understanding, and create a campus culture where everyone feels welcomed and heard. The buffet caters to diverse dietary needs, including: vegetarian, vegan, halal, kosher, and gluten-free.

Welcome, International Faculty Mingzhu Yang!

Mingzhu Yang of Shanghai General Hospital, Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, China, will be visiting JHSON through February 2026. She will work with her faculty mentor, Assistant Professor Janiece Taylor, to research elderly care and healthy aging. Welcome!
