On top of managing the emotional rollercoaster that accompanies death, patients and families have to juggle decisions about final wishes, family involvement, insurance payments, and whether or not to pursue further care. A new study by Dean Patricia Davidson points out that most people don’t get to choose where they die, but that all should have a choice in what treatments they get and in how they receive care at the end of life.
