Hopkins Celebrates National Nurses Week, May 6-12

Johns Hopkins Nursing joins the nationwide recognition of America’s 2.7 million registered nurses with this year’s National Nurses Week. Beginning May 6, marked as RN Recognition Day, and ending on May 12, the birthday of Florence Nightingale, founder of nursing as a modern profession, the week celebrates the theme “Nurses: Your Voice, Your Health, Your Life.”

Throughout the week, Hopkins nurses will be honored with the following events:

Thursday, May 6, 2004, lunchtime
Tug’s Bar & Grille celebrates RN Recognition Day with 2 for 1 lunch specials. Just show your nurse’s badge/ID. Tug’s Bar & Grille, The Tremont Plaza, Mezzanine Level, 222 St. Paul Place, Baltimore, MD 21202, 410-244-7300

Monday, May 10, 2004, 8:00am-11:00pm
Hopkins Nursing recognizes alumni working at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. All are invited to join fellow alumni throughout the day at a hospitality suite in the Smith Room.

Tuesday, May 11, 2004, 12:30pm
The School of Nursing celebrates Nurses Week with cake and refreshments in the café area on the first floor. All are invited to attend.

Wednesday, May 12, 2004, 1:00-3:00pm
The Johns Hopkins Hospital presents the Annual Nursing Awards in Phipps Lobby. All are invited to attend.
