This spring, the Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing and the Johns Hopkins Nurses’ Alumni Association (JHNAA) present the premiere issue of Johns Hopkins Nursing magazine. The new magazine will be published twice a year and combines two former publications – Vigilando, the school’s alumni magazine, and Nursing News, the school’s newsletter.

Johns Hopkins Nursing highlights the profession of nursing and the activity of alumni, faculty members, and students from the School of Nursing. Articles will reveal the endeavors of Johns Hopkins nurses in the areas of education, practice, and scholarship, including research and national leadership. Each issue will also include news from the JHNAA in a special section called “Vigilando.”

The inaugural issue of Johns Hopkins Nursing features a cover story on the current state of hospital bedside nursing and our efforts to encourage nurses and students to pursue this type of nursing as a destination career. Also included are articles about the new and rapidly growing field of forensic nursing and about the international adventures and work of alumna Vashti Bartlett, Class of ’06.

Johns Hopkins Nursing is available online at www.son.jhmi.edu/jhnmagazine.
