To all employees:

In response to the current national emergency, Dean Miller and President Peterson have placed all Johns Hopkins Hospital, Bayview Medical Center, Howard County General Hospital and School of Medicine clinical services on alert status in order to make our facilities and staff available for patients from the disaster sites.

The Hospital disaster control center and plan have been activated. (Smith Room x5-3333).

Tonight’s Employee Recognition Dinner and tomorrow morning’s United Way leadership breakfast are postponed. Information about an emergency blood drive will follow.

In order to make available as many operating rooms and beds as possible, all elective surgeries and elective admissions and transfers are temporarily postponed until further notice so that we can assess the need to admit casualties. Clinical personnel are asked, whenever possible, to expedite discharges.
