Nurses in advanced practice, risk management, and other management positions will want to attend the Patient Safety Academy, which teaches participants how to develop safety initiatives in their organizations. Participants will learn to identify and prioritize organizational safety issues; to plan, implement, and evaluate a safety improvement plan; and to analyze and present data that makes a case for safety. This new multi-disciplinary Academy taps the expertise of nurse clinicians, researchers, and educators from across the Hopkins facilities–the Hospital, the School of Nursing, the School of Professional Studies in Business and Education, and JHPIEGO.
The academy is presented through the Institute for Johns Hopkins Nursing – the joint JHU School of Nursing and JHH Department of Nursing initiative – formed to promote and support excellence and to foster communication and collaboration between nursing education and nursing practice.
