Patty Wilson, PhD(c), RN, and other members of the Project Connect Maryland Leadership Team received the “Outstanding Contributions to Victim Services” award at Maryland’s Governor’s Victims Assistance Award Luncheon.
Project Connect is a national initiative that helps healthcare providers respond to and provide interventions around domestic and sexual violence. The Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene chose the House of Ruth Baltimore—where the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing manages the health suite—to be a pilot site for the initiative. Wilson, director of the school’s East Baltimore Community Nursing Centers, has played an integral role in the school’s offering of nursing services, health education and promotion, and more for battered women and their children at the shelter.
