Experience hands-on, interactive, and immersive training in developing and refining educational health care simulations. This 3-day intensive program provides in-depth information about simulation development, interactive small group discussions, and practice with high-fidelity simulation to enhance knowledge and skills of professionals seeking to provide experiential learning opportunities for students and clinicians.

Participants will work with faculty from the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing, in partnership with the top-ranked Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, to learn how to set up and deliver high-quality simulation scenarios in their own workplace.

The Simulation Intensive Workshop is appropriate for both novice and experienced faculty and post-graduates. The course will be delivered in English.

At the end of this workshop participants will be able to:

  • Define simulation in reference to health care education

    • Discuss of the role of simulation in nursing education

    • Describe the standards of best practice

    • Analyze curriculum integration

    • Evaluate different models of simulation instruction; manikin based, standardized patients, large scale experiences

  • Define debriefing methodologies

  • Analyze business aspects of a simulation center

  • Demonstrate skills in simulation development, implementation, debriefing, and evaluation

Registration cancellations received prior to April 30, 2019 are eligible to receive a refund less a $150 service fee. Cancellations received May 1 – June 3, 2019 are eligible to receive a 75% refund. Cancellations received June 4 – June 26, 2019 are eligible to receive a 50% refund. Cancellations received after June 26 will not be eligible for a refund.

All refund requests must be requested in writing by the registrant or credit card holder.  Refund requests must include the name of the attendee and/or transaction number. Refunds will be credited back to the original credit card used for payment. If payment was submitted by check, a check will be requested and processed for the refund.  No exceptions.

Substitutions
A registration substitution can be arranged at any time without penalty.
