Overview
Jessica Dean (JD) Murphy is a pediatric oncology and bone marrow transplant nurse practitioner at the Johns Hopkins Children's Center. She obtained her BSN from Stevenson University in 2008 and began her nursing career as a pediatric oncology RN before obtaining her MSN in pediatric acute care advanced practice nursing from the University of Maryland in 2012, and most recently her DNP from the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing in May 2022. During her DNP program, she was selected as a Cohen Scholar, completed the post-masters Nursing Educator Certificate Option, and obtained National League for Nursing Certified Nurse Educator status. Her clinical background is as an acute care pediatric nurse practitioner with experience in pediatric intensive care and pediatric hematology/oncology. Her doctoral project focused on optimizing nutritional support for children undergoing blood and marrow transplantation, and clinical interests include reducing malnutrition rates during childhood cancer treatment as well as improving survival rates for high-risk neuroblastoma.
