Overview

Erin Wright is passionate about helping students understand and develop excellence for nursing in women’s health areas. She is a Certified Nurse-Midwife and a board-certified Advanced Practice Holistic Nurse. Dr. Wright provides clinical care to patients in Baltimore City. Her clinical areas of expertise include mind-body medicine, Centering Pregnancy, labor support, breastfeeding, adolescent pregnancy, and non-pharmacologic pain relief in labor. Her current research focuses on occupational health concerns for midwives and integrative medicine for stress reduction. She is a past president and vice president of the Maryland Affiliate of the American College of Nurse- Midwives (ACNM). She currently serves the organization as a legislative chair and often testifies before the state legislature regarding scope of practice issues for midwives. Nationally, she serves ACNM as a member of the Ethics Committee. In addition to her clinical and academic practices, Dr. Wright volunteers locally with the Baltimore City Health Department, providing reproductive health services with the Needle Exchange/Block Project.
