Lisa Grubb

Dr. Lisa Grubb is a proven nursing executive renown for building strong cohesive leadership teams and moving complex organizations to sustained operational excellence in quality, operations, financial and growth arenas.  Her experience spans nearly every area of health care operation in both non-profit and for-profit sectors.  She has held senior level management positions in single and multi-facility settings responsible for three (3) to 50 direct reports and 300 – 10,000 beds.  Her clinical background includes expert knowledge of nursing practice and standard of care, patient safety and quality, infection prevention, legal nurse consulting, project facilitation, management, utilization review, coding, Medicare case review and presentation to Administrative Law Judges on matters requiring appeal, and regulatory expertise (state, federal and Joint Commission).  She has seventeen (17) years of direct and supervisory experience in infection control serving as a consultant for local hospitals requiring assistance in training personnel, performing surveillance functions, managing and implementing special projects, and developing policy; department director at two large medical specialty centers; and contract consultant.    She has worked as an auditor on a contract with the Maryland Health Care Commission & the state of Delaware requiring independent review and validation of hospital-acquired infections by hospital intensive care units to the Centers for Disease Control, National Healthcare Safety Network.

Dr. Grubb is also a wound ostomy continence nurse.  She graduated in 2005 from the Harrisburg Area Wound, Ostomy, and Continence (ET) Nursing Education Program.  Dr. Grubb supervised wound programs and wound care in her VP role and her director roles at two large medical centers.   In addition to supervising Dr. Grubb consulted on wound care patients.  She completed her scholarly work in the area of Pressure Injury prevention where she received the award for “Biggest Clinical Impact” for her work

Dr. Grubb has led and/or participated in a large number of Performance Improvement projects in the areas of Infection Prevention and Control, Operating Room, Nursing Practice, Pressure Injury prevention, diabetes care, and wound care.  She has presented nationally on a number of quality improvement topics for which she is expert.  Most recently Dr. Grubb presented at the annual National Pressure Injury Prevention Advisory Panel and presented a poster on, “Increasing Pressure Injury Prevention in the Emergency Department” winning first place for Clinical Practice Guideline Implementation via Quality Improvement. 

Dr. Grubb has participated in a number of peer reviewed articles and most recently has submitted two articles for publication on Pressure Injury prevention.  She is currently working on research to improve pressure injury prevention in the oncology population.

Dr. Grubb’s area of research is Pressure Injury prevention and she practices as a WOCnurse at the Johns Hopkins Hospital as the wound consultant for the oncology population.
