Richard Conley is the assistant program director of the DNP Nurse Anesthesia Track at the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing. He has been a CRNA for 20 years with experience in both the academic and clinical practice of nurse anesthesia.
During his 20 years practicing nurse anesthesia he was working in large academic medical centers, community hospitals, and surgery centers providing care to patients across the lifespan. His specialties include regional anesthesia, obstetric anesthesia, enhanced recovery after cesarean-section protocols, and the business of anesthesia. He has held many leadership positions over this time including being a Chief CRNA for Northwest Hospital and most recently a Chief CRNA for University of Maryland St Joseph Medical Center.
During his 18 years in academia he has held positions as a guest lecturer, adjunct faculty, part time faculty, full time faculty and most recently the assistant program director for the University of Maryland School of Nursing Nurse Anesthesia program. He has taught in courses across the DNP curriculum, participated in committees as both a member and chair for both local and national organizations.
Dr. Conley received a BSN from Seattle University in 2001, an MS with a specialization in Nurse Anesthesia from Columbia University in 2005, a Teaching in Nursing and Health Professions Certificate from the University of Maryland School of Nursing and a DNP from the University of Maryland School of Nursing in 2020.
