Keitra Thompson is an assistant professor at the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing. As a dually board-certified family and psychiatric nurse practitioner, Dr. Thompson also provides care to patients of all ages in community health settings. She utilizes her clinical experiences and tenets of translational science and community engagement to inform equity driven health services research and program development. Her work focuses on using mixed-method research, evaluation, and program implementation strategies to improve the overall well-being of families and children disproportionately impacted by poverty, intergenerational trauma, and suboptimal mental health and social outcomes.
Dr. Thompson earned a B.A. in Anthropology, Global Health, & Gender Studies from Emory University, a BSN, MSN, and DNP from Johns Hopkins School of Nursing, and a MHS from Yale School of Medicine. She is also a post-doctoral alumna of the Yale/VA National Clinician Scholars Program.
