George Zangaro is the Associate Director for the DNP Executive Track at Johns Hopkins School of Nursing. Several years of executive and senior healthcare leadership in the public, private, and academic sectors. Proven success in developing and implementing traditional and online educational courses at both the graduate and doctoral levels that align with market needs. Extensive health care workforce analysis and technical expertise in strategic decision-making and health policy direction. In-depth experience in survey design, measurement, evaluation, analysis, and reporting of data.
Prior to his appointment as Associate Director, Dr. Zangaro was the Chief Policy and Scientific Officer at the American Association of College of Nursing. He was previously the Dean of the College of Nursing at Walden University serving over 16,000 students. He formerly served as the Director of the National Center for Health Workforce Analysis at the Health Resources and Services Administration leading a group of scientists forecasting the supply and demand projections for health professionals. His major career focus has been on the nursing workforce with expertise in systematic reviews and meta-analysis. Dr. Zangaro has served as a principal investigator, associate investigator, and consultant on several funded research studies. He is an experienced researcher and educator with several years of clinical experience.
In 2007, Dr. Zangaro retired from the U.S. Navy after 25 years of active service.
