We are excited to feature Dr. Rebecca Seltzer, MD, MHS, who will present on “Home Modifications for Children With Medical Complexity: Untapped Potential for Improving Care and Wellbeing. Rebecca Seltzer is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, with joint faculty appointments at the Berman Institute of Bioethics, the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing. Dr. Seltzer’s academic work—spanning research, clinical care, advocacy, and medical education—focuses on optimizing the care and wellbeing of children with medical complexity and disabilities, particularly those in or at risk of entering the child welfare system. Her federally and foundation-funded research aims to inform interventions, practices, and policies that help families care for children with medical complexity in their own homes, rather than in hospitals or foster care settings. She is deeply committed to translating research into impactful advocacy and policy efforts on behalf of children in foster care and children with medical complexity at both the local and national levels.
