Hopkins Nursing excellence across the Johns Hopkins Health System was once again celebrated at the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing (JHSON) seventh annual Evening with the Stars, November 10.
Nurses, faculty, students, alumni, and friends received awards for their clinical practice and academic expertise, consistent excellence in preceptorship and teaching, commitment to diversity, innovation and compassion, and long-standing support of JHSON. In the culminating award for the night, Mary-Ann and Walter D. Pinkard, Jr. received the Dean’s Award for their long-term support of the school, spirit of volunteerism, and continual pursuit of excellence.
Dean Patricia Davidson, PhD, MEd, RN, FAAN, also recognized JHSON alumna Linda Davies Versic for her generous gift that will help fund a new award for Evening with the Stars 2019, and the 130th anniversary of Hopkins Nursing, which the school is celebrating throughout 2019. Omar Jimenez, CNN reporter, served as emcee for the second year.
Event proceeds will benefit the JHSON Baltimore Talent Scholars Program, which provides four full-tuition scholarships annually to Baltimore City high school graduates who have been admitted to the Master of Science in Nursing Entry into Nursing Program.
