The Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing is again offering six scholarships to students through renewed funding from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) “New Careers in Nursing” grant, administered by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN). The monies allow schools of nursing to expand student capacity in entry-level accelerated programs, with scholarship preference going to students from groups underrepresented in nursing who demonstrate significant financial need. Applicants for the School’s Accelerated 2012 program are eligible to apply.
“These scholarships have assisted the School of Nursing in enrolling six wonderful students this year,” said Associate Dean for Student Affairs, Sandra Angell. “We hope to attract an equally diverse and accomplished group of students who will benefit from the generosity and support of the RWJF/AACN New Careers in Nursing program.”
Associate Dean for Development and Alumni Relations Fiona Newton adds, “The first group of Robert Wood Johnson Foundation New Careers scholars at the School of Nursing benefitted from matching funds donated by alumni. We hope our alumni and friends will make gifts to help support this new group of students as well.”
Scholarship applications are due February 15.
