Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing (JHSON) gears up for an exciting week of activities focused on safety in celebration of National Public Health Week 2011, April 4-10. Since 1995 when the first full week of April was declared as National Public Health Week, communities and institutions across the country have celebrated by recognizing the contributions of public health and highlighting issues that are important to improving the public’s health.
This year’s celebration is co-sponsored by the JHSON department of Community Public Health, Johns Hopkins Center for Injury Research and Policy at the Bloomberg School of Public Health (JHSPH), and SOURCE (Student Outreach Resources Center), which serves the Schools of Medicine, Nursing, and Public Health.
With the potential for injury all around us, this year’s events emphasize “Safety is No Accident” and include public health trivia, awareness, and lectures throughout the week.
