A new equipment grant from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) will enhance the training of advanced practice nurses at the Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing (JHUSON).
The School will use the grant to upgrade equipment, expand training capabilities, and enhance learning mobility, accessibility, and flexibility to promote learning anytime, anywhere. Proposed equipment includes a new cardiovascular simulator, videoconferencing tools, and hospital beds for the School’s simulation center. Hands-on experience with realistic equipment will help prepare advanced practice students for future nursing roles.
“This grant allows us to update areas in the existing learning laboratory space for our students to learn, practice, and demonstrate skills and clinical reasoning,” says Associate Dean for Academic Affairs Pamela Jeffries.
Jeffries adds, “With this new equipment grant the School will continue to promote excellence in clinical education.”
