The Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing (JHUSON) is launching its first in a series of audio podcasts highlighting new research, and focusing on critical health topics that span the issues of today’s nursing profession.

The premier interview features Assistant Professor Sarah Szanton, PhD, CRNP, in a five minute interview exploring her research findings on health disparities in older adults.  ”I’m excited to share my research findings through a podcast,” says Szanton.   “This media can help educate the broader public about the urgent issues of increasing health disparities in our country.”  More about Szanton’s research is available in the online spring issue of Johns Hopkins Nursing (http://web.jhu.edu/jhnmagazine/spring2009/departments/bench_html).

This new digital audio interview and others soon to be released are available on the JHUSON website (www.nursing.jhu.edu/aboutus/gallery/podcasts), as well as on the School’s Facebook page.  The series is a component of a continuing effort to incorporate interactive communications and web 2.0 tools that reach out to online audiences throughout the world.

In the coming months, additional audio podcasts that highlight research faculty will examine the topics of men in nursing, infectious diseases, and using technology to improve health outcomes.
