The Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing (JHUSON) has appointed two new directors and two new chairpersons for its baccalaureate, master’s, and doctor of nursing practice (DNP) programs. Assistant professor Jo Walrath, PhD, MS, RN, has been named the new baccalaureate program director and associate professor Julie Stanik-Hutt, PhD, ACNP, CCNS, FAAN is the new master’s of science in nursing (MSN) program director. Marie Nolan, PhD, MPH, RN will continue as program director for the PhD program, and Kathleen White, PhD, RN, CNAA, BC, FAAN will continue as program director for the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program.
In addition to the new program director appointments, chairpersons of several curriculum and academic committees were named, including:
Assistant professor Sarah Jodi Shaefer, PhD, RN, as baccalaureate curriculum chairperson
Associate professor Daniel Sheridan, PhD, RN, FAAN, as DNP curriculum chair
Associate professor Cheryl Dennison, PhD, RN, ANP, as chairperson of the PhD Admissions and Progressions Committee
Assistant professor Linda Gerson, PhD, RN, APRN, BC, as chairperson of the Baccalaureate Admissions and Progressions Committee
Assistant professor Susan Immelt, PhD, RN, as chairperson of the Baccalaureate Curriculum Revision Committee
“It is good to know the tradition of excellence will continue with these newly appointed faculty,” said associate dean for academic affairs Pamela Jeffries, DNS, RN, FAAN, ANEF. “Quality leadership is essential for quality academics.”
Jeffries also expressed gratitude to the outgoing directors and chairpersons:
