Podcasts featuring faculty research at the Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing (JHUSON) now are reaching new online audiences through iTunes.

The SON podcasts highlight new faculty research and critical health topics that span the issues of today’s nursing profession.  Available through “iTunes U”–the nation’s largest online music vendor–universities are using this media to share educational audio files at no cost.  The first three SON podcasts now available to iTunes subscribers are:

Associate professor Nancy Glass, PhD, MPH, RN, and associate director, Johns Hopkins Center for Global Health,  discussing how nursing impacts global health issues;

Assistant Professor Jason E. Farley, PhD, MPH, CRNP, describing the prevention and management of drug resistant infections.

Assistant professor Sarah Szanton, PhD, RN, outlining the latest research regarding health disparities in older adults.

Listeners who wish to download or subscribe to automatic updates of SON podcasts, can search for Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing within iTunes; or visit the JHUSON website at, www.nursing.jhu.edu/aboutus/gallery/podcasts

In the coming months, additional audio podcasts that highlight research faculty will examine the topics of men in nursing, using technology to improve health outcomes, and more.
