The Institute for Johns Hopkins Nursing (IJHN) summer and fall educational offerings provide a varied menu of continuing nursing education programs, including seminars, training programs, and conferences. Nurses seeking skills enhancements, clinical updates, and certification opportunities will find courses fitting their needs in the current programs:

First Friday Research Coordinator Brown Bag Lecture Series, first Friday of each month, Johns Hopkins Hospital, Hurd Hall. Research coordinators will keep up-to-date with this Q&A/networking brown bag lecture series.

Fundamentals for the Research Coordinator, August 12-14 and October 21-23. Participate in this three-day informative session that covers all aspects of the research coordinator position, including managing grants and budgets, preparing regulatory submissions, writing study protocols, creating data collection forms, managing databases, developing recruiting plans, and supervising staff.

Guided Care Nursing Course, August 17-September 25 and October 12, online. Earn the American Nurses Credentialing Centers (ANCC) Certificate in Guided Care Nursing in this web-based Guided Care Nursing course and examination. The course features core and elective modules, live webinars and simulations, and support from expert IJHN faculty.

Sexual Assault Forensic Nurse Examiner (Adult) Training Program, August 24-28.
Attend this five-day in-depth training program and obtain the skills and knowledge needed to become a Forensic Nurse Examiner (FNE). Registered nurses with at least 18 months experience who attend the entire program will be eligible for Maryland FNE certification.

Nursing Now: A Continuing Education Program, September 25.  Join Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing (JHUSON) faculty for this one-day program focusing on the latest clinical updates, best practice guidelines, and cutting-edge evidence-based research. Networking breaks provide opportunities to talk with faculty and peers.
Fundamentals of Informed Consent, September 29-30. Learn more about informed consent with this one-day course that includes lectures, case studies, and interactive discussions with expert faculty. Participants will receive research regulations, consent forms, consent examples, copies of the presentations and supplementary reading materials and resources for independent learning outside the class.

Nurse Manager Academy, October 11-15, Mount Washington Conference Center, 5801 Smith Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21209. Improve skill-building and leadership development at the Nurse Manager Academy. This intensive week of education, conducted in residence, allows participants to engage with a cohort of colleagues and experts and address essential skills and topics related to successful practice as a Nurse Manager.

Best Practices in Clinical Nursing, October 19. Enhance your skills in the first of a three-part seminar series led by Hopkins nurses that will give you cutting-edge strategies and techniques to advance clinical nursing skills.
