Claire Bogdanski, CPA, MBA, Associate Dean of Finance and Administration at the Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing (JHUSON), is a 2006 recipient of a Women’s Leadership Award.  The awards, bestowed annually by the JHU Women’s Network, recognize women for their accomplishments at the University and in the community in motivating and mentoring others, and in strengthening faculty and staff skills, knowledge, and commitment to the University.

Bogdanski was named the Johns Hopkins Medical Institutes Chapter recipient and was cited for her leadership in bringing the School’s administrative components to new levels while at the same time promoting the leadership skills of others. Her nominators noted that “When faced with the launch of a major university-wide technology initiative, she organized an inclusive team that could ensure the School consider a variety of perspectives, while at the same time providing leadership opportunities for those she knew were ready for the challenge…”.

In accepting the award, Bogdanski remarked that her goal as a leader and mentor is to “encourage and empower others-those I supervise, my colleagues, and staff throughout the University-to advance their knowledge, to expand their horizons, and to improve the quality of their work life.”

Bogdanski has been at the SON for four years and previously was a senior department administrator for the Department of Health Policy and Management in the Bloomberg School of Public Health.  She brought over 15 years of business experience with her to JHU.  She is a graduate of Towson University and received her Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Baltimore.
