Three Hopkins nurses participated in the 17th Annual Pacific Nursing Research Conference, held in Honolulu, Hawaii in March. The conference, with a theme of “Addressing Issues in Health Care Disparities through Research and Practice,” was designed to achieve the aim of sharing nursing research findings and fostering the utilization of research findings by clinicians.

Phyllis Sharps, PhD, RN, FAAN, associate professor and director of the Masters Program at the Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing, gave one of the two keynote addresses: Nursing Strategies for Reducing Health Disparities. Miyong Kim, PhD, RN, associate professor, presented Community Mobilization: A Case of the Korean American Community in Maryland and Haera Han, PhD, RN, assistant professor, presented Evaluation Process Outcomes of a Self-Help Intervention for Korean American Elderly with Hypertension.
