Doctoral Student Wins Poster Competition

R. Kevin Mallinson, MSN, RN, ACRN, doctoral student at The Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing, was awarded first place among graduate posters by the Southern Nursing Research Society (SNRS). The award was given at the SNRS annual conference held February 18-20 in Charleston, SC.

    The title of Mr. Mallinson’s winning poster was “Perceptions of AIDS-Related Multiple Losses by HIV Negative Gay Men.” It was one of 77 graduate posters chosen for display.

    The SNRS is an organization dedicated to the promotion of nursing research and the dissemination of research findings.

    Two other doctoral students from Hopkins School of Nursing also had posters chosen for display at the SNRS annual conference. Jean Gaines, MSN, RN, presented a poster called “Qualitative Analysis of the Living Will Decision-Making Process Among the Healthy Elderly.” Xiao Xu, MSN, RN, presented a poster called “Preliminary Domestic Violence Study in China.”
