LGBTQ+ Aging and Career Advocacy in Nursing

Date/Time:
Tuesday, June 30, 2026 (3:00pm – 4:00pm)

Details:
The Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing is committed to highlighting the experiences, research, and practice of various identities belonging to our nursing community. It is a priority for us to amplify the voices belonging to underrepresented communities while providing equitable and accessible opportunities for education and healthcare within our Nursing programs.

This month will be a talk describing unique considerations for the clinical care of LGBTQ+ older adults. The talk is intended for both pre-clinical trainees and clinicians in practice. The presentation assumes no knowledge of the LGBTQ+ community and basic terminology will be reviewed to normalize knowledge across all attendees. By the end of the presentation participants will be able to: List health challenges confronting LGBTQ+ older adults; List recommendations to address these challenges, and; Identify online resources from subject-matter experts in LGBTQ+ aging. Each month, we shine a spotlight on unique and diverse populations within our community.

Registration is required.
