Erika Estrada-Ibarra is in the dual DNP-FNP and PhD program at the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing. Her program of research centers on early childhood obesity prevention, with a particular focus on screen time and media parenting behaviors. She is committed to translating research into practice, partnering with communities along the Texas-Mexico border. She earned her BSN from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi and gained pediatric experience at Driscoll Children’s Hospital and through community-based work at the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing’s COMPASS Center.
