Laura Mata López, PhD(c), MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC, CARN-AP, is a PhD Candidate at the Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing. She is a psychiatric nurse practitioner dedicated to providing accessible, culturally concordant mental health and substance use care to Latino(a) immigrants in under-resourced settings. Using mixed-methods and community-based participatory approaches, her research examines migration-related trauma, suicide, and suicide survivorship among Latina immigrants, aiming to identify modifiable risk and protective factors to inform equitable, culturally responsive suicide prevention strategies.
