Nurilign Abebe Moges

Dr. Nurilign Abebe Moges, BScN, MPH, PhD, is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the School of Nursing at Johns Hopkins University. He earned his PhD in Reproductive Health from the Pan African University at the University of Ibadan, Nigeria; his Master of Public Health from Debre Markos University, Ethiopia; and his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Arba Minch University, Ethiopia.

Dr. Moges’s research focuses on socio-behavioral interventions, including family-based interventions and system-level approaches for the prevention and control of non-communicable diseases. His work also spans sexual and reproductive health—covering maternal, neonatal, child, and adolescent health, including HIV and antiretroviral therapy (ART)—as well as health systems research, such as healthcare financing, health workforce development, and digital health systems.

His postdoctoral research is conducted under the supervision of Dr. Gross focusing g on Chicago Parent Program (CPP), an evidence-based parenting intervention designed to support parents of young children (ages 2–8), particularly in low-income and diverse communities. His postdoctoral work also emphasizes socio-behavioral factors related to excessive screen time exposure, its impact on children’s development and mental health, and the development of preventive strategies for a range of mental health problems.
