Jeanne Moore

Dr. Moore earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Case Western Reserve University and her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from the University of Pennsylvania. Additionally, she earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Computer Science with a minor in Electrical Engineering from the University of Virginia.

Dr. Moore is an Associate Professor (Awaiting Rank) at Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing. Previously, she served at The Catholic University of America as a Clinical Associate Professor and held leadership roles including Associate Dean for Innovation and Online Learning, Co-Associate Dean for Masters Programs, and Director of the Family Nurse Practitioner Program. She has been instrumental in translating clinical courses to online formats and enhancing competency-based education.

Dr. Moore has extensive clinical experience as a family nurse practitioner in primary care settings, and more recently in palliative and hospice care. Before transitioning to nursing, she worked for 8 years as a computer scientist/programmer analyst.

Dr. Moore’s scholarship interests include competency-based education, distance education, technology-enhanced learning, simulation, and telehealth. She has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications, including studies on entrustable professional activities (EPAs), telehealth education, and case-based learning. Her work has appeared in journals such as Nurse Educator, Journal of Nursing Education, and Clinical Simulation in Nursing.

She has secured significant research funding, including grants from the Institute for Technology in Health Care and CVS Health Foundation, supporting initiatives in extended reality (XR) for nurse practitioner education and telehealth training.

Dr. Moore has presented at national conferences, including the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) and the National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties (NONPF).
With a unique background in both nursing and computer science, Dr. Moore continues to drive innovation in healthcare education, shaping the next generation of nurses through technology-enhanced learning and competency-based assessment.
