From Health at Home to ICU, Pediatric Nurse Practitioners Talk About the Care Continuum

Nurse practitioners and faculty Kristen Brown and Lisa Stambolis represent two different ends of the pediatric practitioner spectrum —acute care and community health. But after decades spent with youth from birth to 22, in various stages of health, there’s much to talk about.

Our goal in the ICU is to get them better, get them home, and rely on our community partners to prevent them from coming back.

I talk a lot about prevention, but there’s also a lot of action out in the field. I have urgently called 911 for a child when I didn’t know if they would make it.
