Tim is the Web Administrator for the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing and works to make sure the website is working to optimal standards. Tim graduated from the University of Maryland Baltimore County with a bachelor’s degree in Imaging and Digital Arts, and a Master’s in Management in Marketing from the University of Maryland Global Campus. Tim enjoys spending time with his wife and son, working in the vegetable garden, and enthusiastically roots for the Baltimore Orioles and Ravens.

Sam is the Social Media and Digital Content Coordinator for the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing, and works to bring the latest stories, publications, and research from faculty and students straight to your social media feeds and online reading. Originally from Massachusetts, Sam graduated from Goucher College with a degree in English/Creative Writing and Communications in 2017. His hobbies include camping, bike riding, and watching movies with his wife, cats, and dog.

Sydnee is a boomerang at the School of Nursing—because she loves it here that much. She’s the school’s brand and public relations manager, speechwriter for Dean Sarah Szanton, and has a soft spot for social media and the blog, where her work at Nursing began. Sydnee earned her BA in Communications from Tulane University and her MA in Communications from Johns Hopkins, focusing on Health and Digital. Her work in health-related social media spans industries, including government, higher education, and tech. Sydnee has been profiled by the American Marketing Association and has spoken about social media at the Urban League, Social Fresh, HigherEdWeb, and Social Media Day Baltimore.

Say cheese! Daniel works as photographer and videographer for the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing. He’s usually going around the Pinkard building setting up and breaking down lights for headshots, events, or promotional pictures and videos for the school. He’s originally from Bogota, Colombia, but has already lived in Maryland more than half his life. He received his BFA in Graphic Design from the Savannah College of Art and Design, and his MFA in New Media Photojournalism from the Corcoran School of Art and Design at George Washington University. In his free time Daniel enjoys the outdoors with his wife, as well going to the movies and looking for the best ceviche and tacos spot.

Meredith is the Senior Event Planner at Johns Hopkins School of Nursing. She helps with organizing and coordinating events for the school, ensuring everything runs smoothly from start to finish. Originally from New Jersey, she graduated from North Carolina State University with a degree in Sociology in 2015. She enjoys traveling, eating new food, and spending time with her husband and son.

Laura is a senior communications specialist who supports nursing at The Johns Hopkins Hospital and across the Johns Hopkins Health System. Through newsletters, digital media, storytelling, and, of course, email, she works to communicate with Hopkins nurses and share their incredible contributions with the larger community. Laura came to Johns Hopkins in 2016, but started her career working in video and TV production. She can still recall how the news anchors at WUSA-TV 9 took their coffee and, while working at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, had the distinct honor of holding a boom microphone over the Queen of England.

Steve is a former editor for Newsday, the Rocky Mountain News, the Baltimore Sun, and U.S. News & World Report and has been writer/editor of Johns Hopkins Nursing magazine since 2012. He graduated from the University of Rhode Island (his home state) and will occasionally slip into a Cranston accent while telling a story from his youth. He spends off hours playing guitar or working in his wife’s letterpress print shop, Typecast Press, occasionally doing both at the same time.

Liza is the Graphic Design and Video Coordinator at the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing, where she brings design vision to life through print and digital mediums. Her go-to font (outside of JHSON brand guidelines) is Montserrat. She could spend hours in color palette generators. She prides herself on leaving things more beautiful and organized than she found them. Liza is a Baltimore native and currently resides in Baltimore City with her boyfriend and their beloved dog.
