Reunion Weekend
Reunion Weekend 2022 was a wonderful time to reconnect at an in-person event at the beautiful new Johns Hopkins School of Nursing. The 50-year honorees from 1970, 1971, and 1972 attended and received special gifts and Golden Gift bags. It was great to see and hug everyone again.
Distinguished Alumni Award
The Church Home Distinguished Alumni Award is given to a graduate who has demonstrated continual excellence in the values and knowledge bestowed upon them by Church Home. The award also recognizes that the recipient has incorporated these ideals into a career and life as a respected caregiver and citizen. It was an honor to present the 2022 Award to Patricia Kniffin Roberts,’65. Pat has spent a life of continually “giving back.” Pat’s commitment to nursing education, the community, the arts, and animal rescue clearly made her the #1 Nominee and perfect selection to receive this prestigious award. It was extra special that Pat’s son, Bert, his family, and Pat’s grandchildren could be present to honor a woman who is loved and respected by so many.
Archive Treasures
Recently, I had the pleasure of meeting with Margaret “Peg” Armstrong, ’55, to collect some very unique and interesting articles for the Archives. Who would still have their State Board results, class notes and cape? Yes, Peg, a collector of many treasures, wanted to be sure that the items she saved for nearly 70 years found a good home. The items were turned over to the Alan Mason Chesney Archives, where all of the Church Home memorabilia is housed.
